“We’re SO excited for everyone to see the video. We’ve not released one in fair while, and not done many performance-type videos so it’s something different from us. We’ve always been about trying out new ideas that interest us, and this is another one of those.” – The Plastics.
A couple of weeks back, SA indie band, The Plastics released a video teaser leading up to the release of their latest single ‘All I Really Want.’ Today, marks the release of the bands official video for the track.
The monochromatic video was shot last December at Digital Forest Studio’s in Cape Town and gives fans a behind the scenes look at how the bands latest album, ‘In Three’s’, was produced. Shot by Barry De Villiers (Roundabout Films), the video showcases the band as fun loving musicians, partaking in their collective passion for music.
The style is quite a departure from the bands usual high concept video’s, but it’s simplistic approach, accompanied by recurrent flashing images, almost creates a psychedelic, transient experience. Pair this with lead singer, Pascal Righini’s almost concupiscent vocals, and you have a track reminiscent of British band, the Arctic Monkeys.
