NEW VIDEO: Taylor Swift – Wildest Dreams

I don’t know when I became this person, but here we are. I like Taylor Swift. There. I said it. I’m not even ashamed.

Swifties are getting über excited (once again) at the arrival of Taylor’s new music video for “Wildest Dreams”. Directed (once again) by Joseph Kahn – music video director extraordinaire – only this time, with the magic of an African backdrop, and Taylor starring alongside Scott Eastwood, as a lovestruck starlet (Taylor, not Scott) with on-set luuurve troubles. (We’ve all been there, right?)

Joseph Kahn tweeted about his African expedition a few months ago, but who would’ve guessed that he was here nabbing some wildlife footage for T-Swizzle?

The video is quite beautiful, and Taylor looks super glam with a head full of Lana Del Rey-esque brunette waves. It’s kind of like a really glamorous National Geographic spot. (Take note Katy Perry. “Roar” could have been way less cheese, way more wine.) Also, Eastwood? Phwoar. (Yeah, Katy’s Roar could’ve been more phwoar too.)

The song itself totes gives me those teardrops on little Taylor’s guitar feels, going back to Swift’s pop/country roots. A nice song, but I don’t predict it reaching the same popularity levels as her last few singles.

Cherry on the top: All of Taylor’s proceeds from the video will go towards the African Parks Foundation of America in aid of wild animal conservation. Woohoo! (Was this perhaps an afterthought? Filming with wild animals has become somewhat of a taboo of late. Either way – it’s a good cause.)
